Refurbishment completed (Scroll down to see how the bakkie looked before we started and for work in progess pictures) Deluxe Body Works is proud to be associated with Masterton’s Coffee & Tea Specialists through the restoration of one of their original delivery vehicles, a 1973 VW Type 2 Pick-up. (Scroll down to view how the pick-up looked when we started the restoration). The main floor frame supporting the loadbody deck was repaired by removing all rust (replacing certain sections with new metal panels) and coating the floor and supports with a special rust protective coating. The windscreen surround panel was extensively rust damaged. Sections were cut out and replaced with hand-crafted metal replacement sections, and finished off. Both right and left sides of the body were repaired. Extensive rust damaged panels were cut out and replaced with hand crafted metal replacements, finished off and primed. After: The rusted front right and left steps were replaced with hand-shaped metal and primed.
