Bongani is the Chief Executive Officer for Lion of Africa Insurance, he has held various senior positions at Old Mutual prior to joining Lion of Africa Insurance, most recently as the Managing Director of the Old Mutual Mass Foundation Cluster. Anees is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry and holds a BCom degree and SAICA affiliation. He was also General Manager: Finance at Absa Insurance Company and Divisional Manager of Finance and Strategy at Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Ltd. She has more than 15 years’ experience in the short-term insurance industry. His experience ranges from being a Developer to a Solution Architect in the IT insurance industry and has worked for 11 years for some of the larger insurance companies in South Africa and Africa. His experience spans various insurance disciplines such as underwriting, claims, sales and marketing, finance, auditing, IT, Cell Captives and executive management. She has extensive claims experience where she filled various roles within the insurance industry over the past 20 years. He has also held positions at Regent Insurance as the Reinsurance Manager, Senior Treaty Broker with Aon Benfield, Property & Engineering Products Manager, AIG, Underwriting & Reinsurance Manager Allianz SA and has held other technical leadership roles within the insurance industry. Mustaq serves as Chief Executive Officer of Brimstone Investment Corporation Ltd, a company which he co-founded in Iqbal re-joined the Brimstone Investment Corporation team after spending two years as Chief Operating Officer at Old Mutual Investment Group. Tshwarelo is a qualified Chartered Accountant and serves as an independent Non-Executive Director on the Lion of Africa Insurance board and audit committee. Brimstone was founded in 1995 with initial capital of R3.5million and has a stellar track record over the period. They are critical to the effective communication between our business and clients. As a major municipal insurer, Lion of Africa Insurance is committed to ensuring that our suppliers support the economies of the municipalities we provide insurance services to. Lion of Africa Insurance is more than a Level 1 B-BBEE company: it represents the success of a black-owned South African company that it truly empowered and Lion of Africa Insurance plays a key role in empowerment of black brokers.
