Our Vision is to become a leading Christian Development Agency in empowering communities. By serving local communities we aim to build the capacity of communities to respond to their own needs sustainably. Our focus is on using internal and external knowledge and resources, and facilitating networks and partnerships with the community and other development organisations. Mfesane's outreach has been so much more than than we hoped for. Families on the East Coast and West Coast learnt to grow their own food through our Food Gardens programme. As such, Mfesane provides integrated health services to communities who struggle to access healthcare due to location or financial constraints. We take care of sick people in their homes and conduct home visits for those who can’t get to a hospital or those have been de-hospitalised. Our teams reach out to communities through our free HIV testing and counselling, and assist those infected and affected by HIV both practically and emotionally. We offer comprehensive screening for blood pressure, sugar levels, tuberculosis (TB) and STIs so that our community has a chance to get better before they can get too sick. Our carers teach families about the importance of hygiene in preventing illness. My sister in law saw the Mfesane caregivers with their door-to-door campaign, and asked them to assist me. At the moment I’m also teaching my family and friends on how to take care of themselves. Mfesane is a Christian development non-profit organisation working to eradicate poverty. Our vision is positive, healthy and strong communities. We reach out to communities in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Cape West Coast. Withdrawn at home, she also wouldn’t play with other children at the safe park. Our community services include ongoing projects to support orphaned and vulnerable children, youth development, health care, literacy, numeracy and church mobilisation. Mfesane has over 300 staff working to help those in need and to empower communities. It is these individuals whose hard work and dedication makes what we do possible. Training also ensures that no matter what project we are working on, we do it with knowledge and professionalism.
