Rivers Edge Bookings manages room reservations for an extensive portfolio of Guesthouses, Boutique Hotels and Safari Lodges located throughout South Africa. Each property has been carefully selected, and personally inspected to ensure that the facilities, amenities, cuisine, and service standards will meet, and often exceed, the expectations of both corporate and leisure guests. Preferential rates have been pre-negotiated with each property in the portfolio to enable Rivers Edge Bookings to structure individual and group booking requirements that meet the clients needs and budgetary requirements. The name was inherited when the proprietor, Beverley Langkilde operated a successful guesthouse located on the banks of the Swartkops River Estuary in the tiny village of Redhouse, Port Elizabeth. This property was subsequently sold as a residential home, but such was the demand for Bev’s unique blend of business professionalism, friendly disposition and hospitality talent from both corporate clients and leisure guests alike, that she decided to seek other hospitality properties to represent. Beverley’s experience in the tourism industry started out in timeshare, when she became the top selling agent for Ovland Timeshare in the late 80s and early 90s. A further successful stint in selling timeshare holidays for MiraFlores in the South of Spain during 2001/2 gave her international experience and further honed her understanding of what tourists want when they holiday. In between her timeshare years, Bev co-owned and managed the popular 67 Restaurant on Albany Grove, Durban. Here her latent talent as a restaureur and hostess came to the fore. Bev is also a Director of TourismTattler.com, an online publishing and shared knowledge portal for the international travel trade that aims to grow domestic, regional and international tourism within, and into the continent of Africa. Rivers Edge Guesthouse is located on the banks of the Swartkops River, overlooking the Zwartkops Wetland Conservancy and Aloes Nature Reserve. An ideal home-away-from-home for corporate executives, leisure tourists and family holidays, in tranquil and natural surrounds, and right on the river’s edge!
