It is a humbling realisation that some of our clients have been with the practice longer than ourselves, and we find it especially rewarding when the boys and girls of yesterday become clients in their own right.

Dr. Org Venter Dr Org Venter qualified from Onderstepoort in 1978, and started at Walmer Vet in the same year as an assistant, he then went on to buy the practice in Apart from general veterinary science, he does most of our advanced surgery, and has a specific affinity for eye problems and eye surgery. H e is married to Anita and they have three boys and a girl. (currently the extended family is two dogs, two cats and an owl). He enjoys all aspects of practice, especially the interaction with clients. The diversity that farm animal and horse work offers adds to the enjoyment of general small animal practice. He has a son and a daughter, and is married to Zanne, who is well known for her work involving the welfare of animals. During his off time you are likely to find him on a high dune or a mountain where he enjoys his other passion, paragliding. She does general small animal practice, with a specific affinity for birds. They enjoy spending time on their farm, where she keeps in practice with game capturing. Apart from small animal duties, he shares the equine and farm animal load. Sr Cheri Roper Sr Cheri Roper qualified in 1998 and has been our veterinary nurse since She is in charge of all things hospital and theatre related. We are proud that Maureen and Cathy have been the face of our practice for many years. They are well qualified to assist and advise you with regards to nutrition, accessories and over the counter health products. William, Vicky and Xola have been familiar faces to our clients for many years. They have the experience and compassion to make them irreplaceable in our hospital. Whilst the largest part of our practice at Walmer Veterinary Clinic involves companion animal care, we also see horses and cattle regularly. We offer modern facilities for medicine, surgery and reproduction studies for domestic and exotic pets. We offer extended consulting hours and our clients have the choice to see a vet most suited to the specific problem/patient. Reproduction assistance, including artificial insemination with fresh, chilled and frozen semen.
