There is a communal eating and entertainment area, including a splash pool to relax around. We strive to conserve the environment through a number of initiatives. All electricity is harvested from the sun and/or wind, and water is collected from rain and pumped from boreholes. We grow our own, GMO free and organic, vegetables and fruit, and keep 13 hives for honey. Nestled deep in the Groot Winterhoek mountains, you'll find our privately owned land & the home of Zungah Safaris. Zungah Lodge is based in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The Eastern Cape is the only province to boast 7 of the 8 natural biomes. This enables our area to sustain large populations of different game species in their natural environment. We are based in a malaria-free & tropical disease-free zone, which makes this a safe environment for you and your family to enjoy together. His roots in the industry runs deep, as he has lived this lifestyle since he could walk. Growing up on a citrus ranch with three siblings his enthusiasm for the outdoors couldn’t be tamed. After graduating school, he completed his Professional Hunters course, and not long after, became an Outfitter. Since, Chris has provided every client with a unique experience and created a unique setting where you get to encounter Africa at its best. Both our trackers are very competent and qualified to use firearms, so you know you are always in good hands. Koert and Lionel are family men, Koert a father of three and foster parent to another and Lionel a dad of four. They are kind, cheerful and always greet you with a smile. Chris’ partner, Toni will take care of your needs when spending time at the Zungah Lodge. She prepares organic home-cooked South African meals. Growing up in a small town Afrikaans home, cooking and sharing a meal has always been a joined endeavor. If a friend, partner or child that is not a hunter joins you on your adventure, Toni can take them on a day trip to go shopping, sightseeing or spend a day at the beach.
